I’m new to Upwork. Someone reached out to me to hire. That company have spent $100K based on their profile. How do I make sure it’s legit . It’s called SASMAR, Inc.

If you see that on Upwork, Then it's real, Upwork only shows the client's Spending history that charged by Upwork.

This company has spent a lot of money on Upwork. It sounds to me like you should jump on it now. Start by doing a small job if you can and get a feel for them if you're really concerned. The bottom line is what do you have to lose? You never really know if a company is totally reputable but Upwork is probably the best freelancing platform and the safest.

What I loose is my identity. Why should I give them my passports and driver license. They were like Russians. All have American names. Why can’t they just take my name off from upwork & write up contract Etc

Do you need them more than they need you?

That being said, if your account on there is newish, you'd have probably have had to verify your ID to Upwork.

I asked them to send me contract via UpWork, this is what they said

Hi, yes it is a freelancer contract via upwork. We need your passport and ID to prepare the document and logins in our ERP. Can you provide please....

Not that I'm aware of. Maybe ask Upworks CS and tell them your concerns.

100% do not share your passport data and drivers license , that is why upwork has its own verification system
