You should always wash your hands and avoid touching public transportation rails/buttons with your hands. It is mostly contaiged when people get their hands to their faces , either their eyes, nose or mouth. So dont do that and you should be fine I think

As far I know it is spreading Italy like china wuhan so every one should be more prepared.

It's easily understandable. It's in our nature to be afraid of the unknown and when this unknown causes deaths in the thousands, that's obviously even more "interesting". Thanks to the internet, a subject like this can become the most discussed one fast.

If you're in an affected area, which is quarantined with military/heavy law enforcement presence on the streets, that's unusual in many countries.
