Hey guys, I'm starting this journey thread more as a way to keep track of my own progress, but if I can help anyone along the way, that'd be great.
So what am I starting with?
Currently, I run 2 SaaS sites which are bringing in around $3-4k/month combined. This is basically my only source of income at the moment. Additionally, I have a job that is bringing me about $1k/month.
So what do I plan to do?
Currently here are the projects I'm working on:
1. New SaaS project
This is a custom-coded SaaS product that I wanted to make for my own use, but which I plan to sell at approximately $30-50/month. I am custom coding it, and at the moment it is about half done. I plan to have an MVP ready by the end of the month. For this product, I'm going to be mostly using ads, because it isn't something that people are actively searching for. Thus, I'm not going to be worrying too much about content, other than question articles. Basically I'll just try to pick up traffic from people with the same problem that I had. Otherwise, I'll be using Reddit, LinkedIn, and Google ads.
Progress:
Domain acquired
Site / app half coded
To Do:
Finish coding the app
2. Ecommerce Product
A few years ago, I used to sell a product that sold pretty well, but I was making it by hand and it took forever. Surprisingly, the hole in the market is still very much there, and the market has only gotten larger. Additionally, I have found a way to streamline the production process, so I am going to start selling it again.
Progress:
Domain acquired
40 Articles outlined
First run of products finished
Got the site designed / setup
To do:
Start writing the articles
Product Photos
Start Selling
3. Digital Product
I have identified a huge hole in a fairly popular digital market. I plan to make a site to fill this hole, and outsource basically all creation of the product. (For example if I were making posters. I am hiring people on Fiverr to design the posters) I'm just putting content on the site and driving traffic to it.
Progress:
Aged domain acquired
PBN domain in the same niche acquired
First product purchased, haven't received it yet
To Do:
Setup site
Get a bunch more products to offer
Start getting content for the site
4. Affiliate / Authority Site
I have found a huge opportunity to create an authority site in a niche that is going to become huge over the next 12-24 months (no its not coronavirus). I am going to do the standard procedure. Pump out content, eventually start incorporating ads and affiliate links. This niche is really great. Fairly low competition KWs, but the products are hundreds to thousands of dollars. Plus there are a ton of non-Amazon affiliate opportunities, as well as a great opportunity for white labeling my own line of products.
Progress:
Domain acquired (fresh)
Site set-up
Logo made
1 Article Published
5 Articles Ordered
PBN Domain Acquired (expired)
PBN Site Setup (Logo, theme, SC, etc.)
5 Articles published on PBN Site
To Do:
Publish a ton more articles
5. PBN
I have gotten a bunch of great expired domains that I'm going to use for a PBN. I'm making three PBNs, in 3 distinct niches. The 2 PBN domains listed above are separate. My plan for each of these is to post 5-10 articles a month on each of them, along with some backlinks. After like 4 months or so I'll start linking to my own sites and maybe selling a small run of niche-specific PBN posts on the marketplace.
Progress:
Domains acquired (11 Domains Plus 2 Above = 13 PBN sites)
To Do:
Set-up more sites
Start buying / uploading articles
Find more domains
6. 2 More SaaS Sites
In the niche that my 2 existing SaaS sites are in, I'm going to be making two more, each with a slightly different twist. My plan is to start selling right from the beginning, but just pump it with content and Backlinks.
Progress:
2 Domains acquired (botth expired, very happy with one, not so much with the other. If I find another one I'll use the second as a PBN)
I already have the SaaS product
To Do:
Port the product over to these two sites
Get the funnel done
Order articles
Start linkbuilding
7. Service Business
I found a huge gap in a fairly large market that I plan to fill. I'm probably going to use spp for the order processing, but admittedly I haven't done much for this yet. On this site, I plan to use a combination of SEO and LinkedIn / Google ads. I also want to make a BST because its a service that a lot of people on here would benefit from.
Progress:
I have a large portfolio of work
All the equipment to provide the service
Domain acquired (fresh, not thrilled with it)
To Do:
Get Jr. VIP to sell on here
Get spp integrated
Get site setup
Start ordering / publishing articles
Point a few of my PBNs to this site
Start linkbuilding
What can you expect from me?
I'm really hoping to update this thread somewhere between 1-3 times per week. Basically, I'll update once I have enough progress to warrant one. At the moment, I'm not going to include traffic/revenue metrics because there aren't any. When this changes, I'll begin including them.
P.S. I just wrote this post in about 10 minutes, and its almost 1k words, so I realized I've been kidding myself about not being able to site down and write thousands of words for my sites. Guess I'll go write an article or two.
