WEEK 2 UPDATE
Just a note, it hasn't been a full week. It's only been 5 1/2 days but I won't be able to put out an update for the next 3-4 days.

This was a good week for me personally and also for the site. I got work done and the site did well.

Stats:

Word Count

I published one article and got started on another. Once finished the second article should have around 1000-1200 words as I'm trying to push out more content. The published post is a buyers guide, and the unpublished post is an informative article.


Amazon Dashboard

Not bad at all. I received another order but this was totally irrelevant to the niche of my website and was a low ticket item. I did, however, receive the earnings for the big order that was placed in the last update, $32. Clicks have been steady for the past few days but should start increasing soon.


Google Search Console

Pretty average, but as I'm going to be pumping out more content it should increase.


Google Analytics

Same thing as GSC.



My goals are still the same, and I've been trying to write as much as I can. I've been busy managing my other online income streams to really dedicate any substantial time to this but I'm going to try my best coming forwards.

WEEK 3 UPDATE

Compared to the other weeks, this wasn't a very special week. This is expected though, as it still isn't a matured website yet.

I've been doing other things so I didn't really get to make any major progress when it comes to articles, but I still wrote a few words here and there.

Something that I am excited about is the fact that I know I have some more people on board to help me out, and now the number of articles being posted weekly should increase. At this point, all the site needs are some good articles, as I can handle the link building part myself.

I only added 200-300 words to the article that was unpublished before, but from now on the articles will be above 1000 words at the minimum.


Amazon Dashboard

Even though the earnings aren't great, I'm happy with how it's going. In the past few months, I've only received 1-2 orders a month and they all usually happen in one batch, but it's nice to see that more and more people have been clicking on the links and buying something, even if it isn't the linked product.


Google Search Console

Although I received 5 less clicks than last week, the average CTR is a bit better than before. Hopefully these numbers will all be increasing soon (aside from position )

Overall this was a good week in my opinion. I believe that from now we're only going up.


I think this is a good time to discuss my intentions for the site.

I'll be honest, I don't have a noble intention as some others may have, I'm just doing it for the money, but I think that this is a noble enough intention for some of us here . If the site does become successful (enough) then I'll most likely sell it, as I won't have a lot of time in the coming year or so, for personal reasons.

At the same time, I'm still trying to put some quality in the articles, so they actually provide useful information to prospective customers. From seeing competitors and other affiliate sites I've realized that many people just write a useless article and put 3-4 affiliate links in and call it a day. I'm not trying to be like these people, and if you are looking to make an Amazon affiliate site, I recommend you do the same.​

WEEK 4 UPDATE | 1 MONTH UPDATE

I am very happy with how things are turning out. My other ventures are currently growing, and so is this one. I did not write any more articles as I wanted to let the new articles begin ranking before pumping out content, as that has helped me in the past.

I'm now going to go on the grind for a month or two, as there is no outside stress from my real life, so I can focus on my BST and this website.

The recent spike in orders has really been motivating, and I would be stupid if I let this motivation go to waste.

These last 2 days have been amazing. Yesterday I received a $500 order through my link, and today the total also comes to $500. This is a great amount for a fairly new website. Hopefully, this will only grow.

I somehow managed to snag position 1 for a fairly high competition buyer intent keyword. This has been the main traffic source too. I think that buying keywords is now the step I need to take, as my keyword research is not very good.

This whole month has been better than usual. As always, there have been ups and lows, but now it seems like it's going to be going on the up and staying there.

WEEK 5 + 6 UPDATE

Sorry for the lack of updates, I've been trying to balance things so I have enough time for myself and work.

So I've been quite happy with how things are going. I'm going to be going on the grind writing some in-depth articles once the world is back to normal, but I'll probably prepare them beforehand.

Pretty linear movement, I didn't expect anything big as I hadn't posted any new articles. Hopefully it goes on the rise soon. Ranking hasn't been an issue for me as I've been fortunate enough to find some good keywords, but that fortune has been used up and I really don't have the time to do extensive keyword research, so I'll be purchasing some keywords from the marketplace here soon.

Yup, after seemingly leaving forever. I am back

I had to stop working on the site for some time as I was focusing on my link building journey and some IRL stuff. But I am back, hopefully for good.

The commission cut really hit me, if it weren't for the cut then the site would still be making an average of $100 a month, but sadly this isn't the case.

However, I'm not going to give up so easily. I've looked into a lot more networks and thanks to the help of @Razen666 I found one that I really liked. I'm not just going to be using that network but will also be finding some more which are suited towards my niche, and will see if that works. I'm also in talks with the seller of the most popular product on my site, to see whether we can agree on better rates.

You can probably see where the update happened . This update really sucked. Luckily I can see the site is growing again.

I didn't really work on this site at all in the time that I was gone. I did get a free review copy article which was amazing from @nightflower . But other than that I only edited 1-2 articles and made them longer.

Now I will be focusing on content and will try to pump out 4 articles a week once I have the keywords done. (Mix of doing them myself and buying from marketplace sellers, will see how it goes)

I'm also going to be going back to a more relaxed style of posting updates, as this does take quite some time, and doesn't even look that good!! ​

Yup, no more centered posts anymore, it was probably making reading these updates that little bit more tedious.

These 26 days weren't as productive as I was hoping, but the amount of time I could put into this project wasn't much.

I've now signed up for a bunch of affiliate programs on ShareASale, CJ, and some others. I've been accepted into the majority of the advertisers I signed up for. The ones that were rejected weren't of high importance.

Enough yabbering from me, let's see the earnings

Earnings

The earnings were as expected, I can't ask for much more considering the amount of work I've been putting into this. As my workload increases, the earnings should too

Not much to say here, let's just move onto traffic.

Traffic

The total impressions and clicks have begun to increase, and the average position is decreasing which is very good to see. We should be seeing a rapid rise in the total number of impressions for the next update, as there will be more articles being pumped out.

It's great to see that the site is beginning to rank higher and higher, gives a little bit of motivation

Content

I wrote and published a 1700 word article 2 days ago, and my partner had written some 2600 words before that. I know that it's still not much but we will be kicking into overdrive soon.

You may be thinking that I'm stupid not to buy content because I can't write that often myself, but I have my reasons.

The main reason is that I can't find any decent content for a medium price. I'd have to go up to $4/100 words just to find something that I'm happy with.

It's because I'm focusing on pushing out quality content, not just filler posts to get rankings. And through my previous experience, I've seen that those low quality $1/100 words posts are the posts that don't rank.

The review copy article that nightflower wrote for me is ranking 3rd now, and I didn't build a single link to it. The same can be said for my previous articles, they are all ranking high without link building. If I had the budget, I would be buying articles from nightflower left and right.

Some people may be wondering what I'm doing in terms of link building, so I'll explain below.

Link Building

I haven't purchased a single link building service for this site, other than my own service, but that's free for me

The only links pointing to this site, are some high-quality links or links that come organically.

I know that this strategy won't sustain me in the future, so I will probably be experimenting with some reputable services here (none of that spiderman monkey batman crap), but for now what I'm doing is working.
