Hey guys

Im starting a new blog and decided to create a journey thread for two reasons - 1. to help keep me accountable to you guys (and for you to give me a kick up the ass when im slacking :D) and 2. for self documentation, I want to be able to look back and see what I did right and what didn't go to plan :)

Goal
As in the title, I am aiming to create 200 high quality blog posts, around 200 low competition, low volume, easy to rank for keywords. I am aiming to do this by 1st March 2021. Why 200? No specific reason really, its just an arbitrary number. I will be monetizing using affiliate products most likely as I have found quite a few affiliate products, but I haven't properly planned that out yet. To some people, 200 blog posts seems like an easy goal, but for me its a bit difficult as I have other things I am working on and other responsibilities of course :)

What I've Done So Far
So far I've come up with a niche, blog name, bought a keyword package, found a domain and I've made a logo myself. I will probably get a proper logo done by a designer eventually though.

What I Need To Do Next
  • I will be buying a few test articles from different article writers to find the best writer I like with a good price.
  • I will also need to buy the domain
  • I will need to go through the keywords when they come back, to make sure they are suitable

Regular Updates And Answering Questions
I will try to give you guys regular updates if possible. I also have a job too, so I will try to update this thread once a week at least. I can't promise to answer all questions as I will be busy, but I will try :)

Good luck. 200 in 12 months is 16.6 a week. That's some pretty good going in most people's books.

Good luck on your journey ;)
What's your budget for outsourcing?

Good luck with achieving your goal.
i will be following and i got some questions if you dont mind.

How many words per blog post?
Have you planned how much would you pay for 1k words?
Any expectation about the earnings after publishing 200 blog posts?

If I were you I would rather post 50 articles in 4 different blogs instead of 200 in 1, that way after a year you see which one performed better and you can double down or focus on the niche that performed better instead of wasting time writing 200 articles for a niche you are not yet sure how will it perform.

What's the rest of the strategy? Only looking for ranking, not monetization?

Good luck!

Update 1

What I've done since last update:
  • Bought domain name. Took a while to find a good name that wasn't taken though
  • My keyword pack came back. I went through it manually, and filtered out the good ones (low competition and lower search volume). I have 24 keywords to write about now
  • I bought a few test articles, seeing which provider gives me an article that I like
Things I need to do next:
  • Find 176 keywords. I will do this over the next few weeks
  • Buy hosting and connect it to the domain
  • Set up the site (upload logo, plugins etc)

Thanks! As for budget, I'm just going with the flow at the moment. Some of the articles will be written by me to save on costs, especially the bulky articles.

Good luck with achieving your goal.

1,000 words minimum.
No, because I haven't found the writer yet. Once I've found him/her, I will let everyone know.
Too early to be talking about specific earnings yet, but I suspect I will be getting a good amount of traffic after the 200 blog posts. Im just enjoying the process in the mean while :)

The niche I've chosen is already making money, I've checked :) But yes, if I was a complete beginner, I would do as you have suggested :)

Thanks! Affiliate products as mentioned in the OP.

At first I thought this was about forum posts and I was like, this is a bad idea.

Good thing you are going to write with keywords in mind, a lot of times people fail because they write without doing proper keyword research first.

Update 2

What I've done since last update:
  • Found 26 keywords
  • Test articles came back. I've found a provider that I liked. Good, well researched content for the price, but it requires a little editing.
Things I need to do next:
  • Place order for more articles
  • Find 150 more keywords
  • Buy hosting and connect it to the domain
  • Set up the site (upload logo, plugins etc)

Haven't done the last two items yet, just haven't had the time. Will get to it soon though.
