does anyone have any experience in building out a page on an irellevant expired domain with decent metrics and backlinks? Does it provide any value, or would it be seen as totally useless/irellevant?

This shit is honestly worse than bots. Those at least can't do anything about the fact they are spamming forums with irrelevant bullshit.

As the definition goes, SEO is throwing shit against the wall and hoping that something will stick.

By using niche relevant domains, you are making your chances of the shit sticking much higher. If you are planning to use the domain as your money site, then really try to stick with a niche relevant domain, at least widely relevant.

Sometimes auction/expired domains rank perfectly, sometimes they never rank. And even niche relevant might not rank ever. But, as I said, niche relevancy makes your chances higher.

Your only chance to get some good results is to go with this kind of domain on adult niche!
But if is dropped domain, I doubt will have fast results.
