I have an Ebay account that is over 10 years old over a 250+ rating (about 50/50 from buying and selling). Would my account be safe if suddenly I had a big spike in activity? Would my long history be an asset?

Also, can this system be used to find items and sell them directly on my own website?

Hi. yes your account age & history can be considered as an Asset.
And yes, you will be able to find items and not sell them on your site - You will sell them on your eBay store. But yes, those can be sold on shopify as well. There are plugins for shopify that can help you sync your Shopify store with your eBay dropshipping store.
