I think this forum needs a new rule

If the rule prohibits everyone from exposing a site or asking about it. How would anyone learn about that site ?

Simple as fuck.
For example you found a bad ass site ranking banking on some niche, adult or mainstream, you come here and ask about information's without exposing the link of that site. In this way you don't give exact info for google, and in 99% of cases they will not do research to find out straight away.

For example the recently exposed site was part of adsense discussion, and short after started to be a hunting ranking informations, so the owner of the site will lose his adsense account and his ranking in same time.

The best solution I can give you is:

Make a script that will check certain forum and seek for your domains + alert you if found any.

Report em using report button, and shoot a PM to a few mods, explain what you did here, and they will probably remove your links/text.


Things can't get much better than this, because this subject is so complex to solve, but I do understand your frustration.

The reason people expose certain sites or niches here is because, they are curious to ask others opinion on how the site is performing this well.

This is a community where people help eachother understand how the online world works. So, I think its common for some to ask others regarding how this site is performing so well.

Regarding your loss of visitors or revenue, its bound to eventually happen one way or the other. As Google keeps updating its algo based on various factors.

So, I would not recommend such rule to be implemented in this community.

It's called common decency. Realising that other people have worked their asses off, and so the way to create a strong community is not to shit on each other and destroy other people's businesses if you can avoid it. Common decency bro, pretty simple.

Can't you see the obvious difference between privately learning from bigger sites and publicly drawing attention to other peoples' sites for your personal gain and their personal loss?

What do you think someone ranking in the top 3 for competitive keywords is going to give a shit about why you screwed their traffic up?

Practice visualisation in order to develop empathy mate. It goes like this:

"If I was the person who's website I'm publicly revealing, and I had been working on it for 12 months, and that site was my main source of income so that I can buy food for my family, what would my reaction be if someone came along and publicly started posting about my method and site, knowing that it might lead to it being penalised?"

No man, I'm talking about users who find sites ranking high on google with blackhat methods, grab the links and open thread with subject "how this spammer guy ranks so high" and add the link of the site in that thread!

And yes we take risks, but this not mean we need to destroy other works too, I have 6 direct competitors in my field, already arm to arm from like 6-7 years, what to do? to report them if they outrank me? to expose them everywhere?

no man, if they outrank me I research to get back, and consider them brothers in arms, cause if I put 1 year hard work in a project same they do.

we are fighting with google, and we take only a small part of that huge cake.

I personally have been exposed here with some of my sites last year, and lost almost 10 mil visits per day

10,000,000 visits per day? That's more than WebMD, AOL, Fandango, and Quora, combined.

Report the post and move on.

If someone is truly missing out on this amount of traffic, telling them to "report the post and move on" is like telling someone who just got an arm chopped off, to put on a band-aid and forget about it.

I know those sites it have been hit after some time, but not right after the expose. I was expected at least 2-3 months of still ranking. Shortly after I have done a lot of research to find out the reasons, and after like 6-7 months, I have find out the no 1 reason, after I have found those topics here.

This is another reason why it's a bad idea to tell someone to just "report the post and move on". It may be months before even noticing that it's happened and by then, it may be far too late. The damage would likely already have been done.

That being said, we also cannot expect the moderators to catch every instance of this happening, and especially without each occurrence being reported.

Only thing I can think of, is some sort of limitation or prompt or something, prior to BHW allowing external URLs to be published.
