Most underrated film?

Maybe more of a thursday/friday thread but wth...

What film do you recommend - ones that are not renown, perhaps international but ones that you have felt deserve greater acclamation...

For me it's 'the wailing', 'svaha', and 'pans labyrinth'. All international films but wonderful if you're a fan of fantasy/suspense/mild horror.

Any recommendations?

Geena Davis is so good in that one. 10 from me on IMDb btw, from back in the day.

I'd add "Jeepers Creepers". Still gets me! Classic horror. Has a huge fan-base, at least.

Samuel L Jackson is pretty good as well. "I'm always frank and earnest with women. Uh, in New York I'm Frank, and Chicago I'm Ernest.".

Geena's best role IMO.

Dark City.

Classic Alex Proyas's film, the guy who made 'The Crow'.

Very underrated movie. The Matrix reused many of the same sets/stages at the same production studio a year later.
Arguably a far superior movie to The Matrix, and yet, almost nobody remembers it, because it didn't have Keanu Reeves in it.

I think "It" was super underrated, to be honest. "District 9" too.
Also, King Kong which is one of my favorite movies was extremely underrated.

We have same taste. Long Kiss Goodnight is really underrated.
I just love Jeepers Creepers, watched 3 parts of it just 1 month ago. 3rd film is semi-shit though.

Watched it a few days ago. It's not bad. It was too much for me, all the easy sex, violence and that disgusting lifestyle. I appreciate the recommendation, though!

Nightcrawler is the best movie about business/entrepreneurship in the last decade, in my opinion.

Downloaded it back then when you recommended it but finally took the time to watch it now. Blew my mind. Aside Jake's amazingness, the movie is crazy good. Saw it has 8/10 on IMDb, with half million votes. No wonder why.

Don't know how I missed it back in 2014, probably thought it's the same as Ryan Gosling's Drive (2011) or whatever. Their covers are similar, maybe the promos were too. Anyways, thank you very much for sharing this with us.

P.S. Never really liked Jake so, I don't follow his career but, I don't do him wrong like this one (at 1:25):
