My meaning was that personally, I think that the UK is pretty well equipped to keeping it out and dealing with what gets in.

As @Voo said , the virsu is not that lethal. Most of the victims are 60+ years old wich have other lung or chronic deseases and weak imune system. The virus is a more agressive version of the flu itself. No need to be that alarmed. And im speaking from a country which is near to italy.

As of 24 February, a total of 6,536 people have been tested in the UK, of which 6,527 were confirmed negative and 9 positive. These figures do not include the 4 confirmed cases from the Diamond Princess cruise ship who arrived in the UK and received test results from Japan. These will be included once we receive the UK tests for these patients.

I still think that we are pretty well equipped to deal with it.

I think that most places are to be honest, other than the most infected, originating areas.

However, I am surprised this thread has gone for as long as it has. I feel like there are vulnerable people in the world, some of which will be in the IM community.

Spreading fear amongst people who are here for IM is not something I agree with. I would like to think that we all have enough internet knowledge and critical thinking abilities to search outside of a IM forum for information if we want it.

To say a fucking flu is more dangerous than this virus is simply wrong.

- First of all the death rate of the Cvirus is much higher (0.05% for a flu, more than 2% for the virus)
- The transmission rate of the Cvirus is much higher, almost double
- The incubation time of the Cvirus much higher and maybe the main reason, why so many people got infected in the first place
etc.

beside all this; do you really think the number of official deaths is accurate? From what I see in here (I am in China) the death rate is way higher. In the beginning (last month) it was pretty clear the number of deaths is at least 3x higher, but now there are just sooo many dead people, there you can't even see a difference anymore. You can't see if they say "Oh 150 people died today" when there are actually 400 dead people, because both numbers are just too high. With the chinese gov. trying to eliminate ALL KINDA information. By the way: They are blocking almost all VPNs, every single day new blocks..VPNs which worked perfectly last month. People who walk around with their smartphones and film stuff get busted in the middle of the night, their phone, laptop etc. taken away and called foreign spies.

People should get servers in several locations and connect from there. Pretty simple to set up proxies or vpns. Obv commercial solutions will be blocked first, but unknown, private soluttions only used by 1-2 persons will not be blocked.

There's always a way.
