Guys this is only part of the story. The images do not actually belong to the person looking for the link.

I guess this is why she's angry. She'd be nuts to complain if the images were actually copyrighted, but most likely it's random people trying to fool your average bloggers. Very clever, though too black for me to praise or do.

It is, hands-down, the best link building strategy that is still untapped. I don't recommend doing it on random sites/images - but reverse Google image search of images your website HAS is extremely powerful.

Here's a very handy snippet of code of the app I build in C# for just this:

1) Upload all your website images to Google Reverse Image Search
2) Find all websites using the same image
3) Emailing them asking for credit-link to your image, which is on your page XX (link to your page with image)

I only use it 'legally' as I own all the images I ask credit for.

So basically, you've found a way to do "hat washing," that makes a BH tactic "legal" or almost WH through simple repositioning.
