Who is your go-to keyword difficulty checker? I use both Moz and ubersuggest but they are usually so far off. or am i reading them wrong?

Yup! It's been the long story of every keywords research tool. My option for keywords research is Semrush.
Of curse there will be difference in each seo tolls. Their Algorithm will be little differet. we don't that what are factors they are considering to provide the result.

Common sense. If you follow blindly what the tool says you most likely doing it wrong.

So far ahrefs keyword tool is the worst. If I can remember correctly "how to update android" had KD of 3 recently. But ahref is the best for all other functions. Nothing can beat it.

I use multiple tools like Ahrefs, and SEMrush, but for checking actual difficulty keysearch.co is a decent tool.

I like KWFinder, Ahrefs, Keyword Revealer and other free tools available.

The problem with KW Difficulty is that they should take others metrics, specially the one that relates with links. Most people believe that the best link database is Ahrefs, therefore something that analyze the SERPS using the Ahrefs estimation system shall be the best. Which is so? Ahrefs itself has this tool, therefore we must believe that Ahrefs keyword difficulty index is the best.

Don't trust those metrics, I like KW Finder because the UI makes it simpler to see each KW and inmediately after, the Serps for that KW.

I recently bought Keyword Revealer for the price to see if this could satisfy and replace KWFinder but it isn't as polished. It takes a week to get the report for each KW. So KW Finder is the killer in terms of usability.

The best tool for keyword difficulty checking is yourself and manual work. Tools should only be used for initial research, filtering and can help a lot with competitor and serp analysis (both these are manual work though).

I don´t rely on any KD score from any SEO tool for this. I conduct my own keyword difficulty analysis with a template a build that covers over 20+ different variables.

But, I do use Ahrefs when diving deeper into analyzing a keyword's true difficulty.
