Don't do this, folks

C'mon! This is Black Hat. Do not do this.

Don't scrape sites, find random images and blast emails out claiming you need a backlink. This is absolutely Black Hat and totally unacceptable.

And it's all Google's fault. They are the one dictating what we should do or not do to rank. If they said only articles including pictures of monkeys will rank from today we'll all be discussing of how many monkeys we need to rank and how many monkeys is too many and will cause google to punish us.

If I had said that, I'd get 20 replies from angry G fans telling me how nasty I am.

But yeah. I've been saying that for .... too long.

At least they have not filed a false DCMA to drop the site from listings...

:D:D Laughed hard after reading this.
Sad but that's the reality that we are living in.

I know for a fact that legit SEO agencies do this on a scale.

People at the SEO conference she's at are doing it. They're sitting right next to her while she tweeted LOL.

Right? This is actually more ethical.

Just double standards..and then there are people who are spending $100k on links from "legit" sites and they call themselves White Hat.

I know for a fact, first hand witness, that some of the top white hat SEO gurus out there today bought Black Hat links for YEARS for projects they were rubbing under Google's anti-spam team's nose. Right there: they were playing good guys right in front of antispam czar, while czar smiled and felt all nice and cozy, they were buying U$ 10000/o in links.

Hypocrisy is a must in the SEO guru niche.

Who is this girl?

Generally these are filed by anonymus/false credentials just for the sake of pulling out of the listings for some weeks. Not so ethical and very painful.

I think that asking for credits, if false, is dismissable (at least you know of their existence) and if true, then you may face a DCMA request.
By far, I prefer this way to proceed in both cases (both black and white hat purposes).

Guys this is only part of the story. The images do not actually belong to the person looking for the link.
