Imagine iif you knew of a way to create a 301 redirect from a large authority site, or specifically on high authority subdomains like sub.authority.com - which has like DA of 85+.
If you then go on to create 100s of pages on this subdomain, all pointing / 301 to your moneysite (and relevant content/titles etc), like this:
sub.authority.com/page1.html -> 301 to your moneysite page1.html
sub.authority.com/page2.html -> 301 to your moneysite page2.html
sub.authority.com/page3.html -> 301 to your moneysite page3.html
Why would this not work to boost your moneysite's SEO?! I tried it, it doesn't.
All I can think of is that Google knows about such exploit and blocked it, or I am doing something wrong. I checked with Mobile Testing Tool / Fetch As Google and they render my moneysite correctly, so it must be following 301.
And if I use site:sub.authority.com/page3.html in Google, then it shows content from my moneysite... So Googlebot *is* following redirect, it's just not having any positive effect. Why is this? Anyone like to guess?
I tried 301, 302 and javascript redirect. None have any effect on SEO ! But in theory it "SHOULD WORK".
