Any guidelines/tips on buying articles?

I see a few sellers here sell content but they don't speak English that well and they do grammar mistakes. Is this a red flag? Or are these people just resellers having a network of good writers that do the actual job?

1. Always ask for samples
2. If you have a WordPress installation, upload those samples into a fake post and run any SEO tools you use (Yoast and RankMath are my top choices) and check how well those samples are optimized for SEO.
3. Run those samples through Grammarly and check it for grammar, misspell and punctuation errors.
4. Download and run those samples through the Hemingway Editor and check it`s readability score (This is something you can do on Yoast either way).
5. If you`re hiring a writer from the Marketplace here, be sure to check the last 20-30 post. Just the most recent ones, and check for any complain in regards to deliverables and the quality of the work.

Thank you! It does help yes. Do you think there is a significant difference in quality between those sellers selling 500 words at $20 and those selling 500 words at $6-$9?

But this isn't always the case. So, stick to my guidelines, contact as many writers as you can, evaluate their samples, check the comments from the last 10 pages or so and take your own conclusions.

I never stated Grammarly, The Hemingway Editor or any other writing-related software (like spinners) will in any way replace the inherit quality of something written by a human being. NOT A CHANCE!

If you read my comment, the reason why I even mention Grammarly and the Hemingway Editor is to use both to quickly check, analyze and evaluate to some extent the work of a writer.

I don`t know if there`s a better way for a non-writer to determine the quality of a piece of article. If you do, by all means, I am all ears (or eyes in this matter ).

But to be honest, I use both software when writing my own articles and, even tho I don`t consider myself to be a professional writer, I must say, these softwares have helped me a lot!

But, you also have the other way around, people with experience that rather keep it shut before posting a negative review of someone. I don`t know why.

Hence, why i rather reach them privately. People are prone to be more open with criticism that way.

Some of them are resellers.
Some of them are (including me) are part of a team. Personally I do not write content but my partner does being from UK since mom's belly.

And some of them... Are liers. You will waste loads of money and patience finding a decent one.

If you are not a native as me will be very hard to spot intruders.

For me, if I can read it, it's English. I invite @BassTrackerBoats to say some regionalisms from the US that will make you Google that words.

You can usually spot the real native English speakers, by their writing style. The use of nuances, the ability to use contractions with words etc.

Man, fu*k Grammarly. It's crazy cos it's now the be-all an end-all for some when it comes to quality. For writers who sometimes write in unique, unorthodox style, Grammarly doesn't know shit on how to judge it. The problem with tools like that is it's always going to follow some dumb, rigid, prescriptivist formula, which is never going to be able to fully appraise writers who aren't rigid and stiff.

If you are in need of English articles it is always better to go with one who is well versed in it. Ask for samples from the service providers check them and if you are okay with it. Go ahead.

Unfortunately, the only way to find good writer is to buy articles from each. Samples may help you weed out a few before you buy. But in my experience the samples are usually far superior to the content you actually get. On average, I buy from 10-15 writers before I find a good one. The more you pay typically the better the quality but it's no guarantee. I have purchased content at $0.70 per 100 words that was far superior to $5 per 100 words.

Once you find a good writer keep looking until you find a second and a third.

It's all about separating the best from the rest. A lot of writers (I used to be one that wouldn't) won't even advertise much because they just don't have the time on their hands. This is more common with veteran writers like myself (over 15 years) as good copy tends to spread like wildfire.
