High DA backlink as tier - Do I need tier two?

If you get high DA, high TF etc. backlink from a trusted site, do you really need to build tier two backlinks to push the juice even further?

It wouldn't hurt to send some homepage PBN links that aren't from the best quality but at least are listed on the homepage. Other tier 2 links, like profile, social bookmarks wouldn't really do the job these days.

Won't help you rank but it will make Google underdstand your site/post better. It's all about relevancy.

If the sites you got the links from are money sites/blogs from regular people then DON'T do it. It's rude and unethical. You can potentially screw their rankings. If it's a big authority site (like a newspaper or a multinational) then it's fine as their domain is strong enough to resist spam.

Agree and understood. I feel the same way.

Tiered link building was a big thing 5 years ago. Not sure whether it would make any difference today. Likely 90% of your tier 2 links won't even get indexed anyway--so it's just wasted time and money.

Tiered linking is still kicking and alive.

But you must raise your standard. Don't use crap link to spam those tier 1.

Now this is getting confusing. But here is what I understand:

Have strong tier 1
Point tier 2 towards tier 1.

Do not point low quality tier 2 towards tier 1.

Now the question is, what is the benefit of that if tier 1 is already a strong quality backlink?

If you have already strong tier 1, you don't need tier 2.
