In my opinion, it doesn't help asides just increasing analytics report. It's not worth it.

Google won't deindex you for traffic quality - it will kill your rankings if you have a really high bounce rate, short average visit length and low engagement...which also comes with that... And if you're running adsense, it will get you banned QUICK...

But, if you are not running adsense, and have a good amount of real visitors, a low bounce rate and high engagement rate and want to boost your alexa rank (if you plan to sell it or are wanting to apply for an ad network who requires a certain alexa rank, or want to sell direct buy slots on your site) it can be helpful...

That said, keep it to about a 3:1 ratio (3x real to 1x fake) and you should be good... If all other elements check out... Otherwise it becomes obvious
