I heard these are going for a $$'s at the moment because of the panic. If I had no humanity, I would be tempted to stick a couple I have in the garage on Ebay!

Edited my post to make my stance a little clearer. If you are so inclined you can buy them in bulk anywhere in the UK. Just remember, what goes around, comes around. And when it comes to flu type viruses, that might be sooner than you think!
Actually we are looking to buy them for some corporate organizations who want to donate the masks to countries for free. So we will just quote the price we get and then we receive some commissions from the organizations for completing this task for them. Are you based in the UK?

You do realize that there is a global shortage of masks and people still want and need them, right? They are ready to pay more money because they see this as a serious threat but there is a lack of supply so the prices keep rising.
Why would it be "wrong" to sell masks for the market price?
The "wrong" thing to do would be to have masks but not to use or sell them. Now that's "wrong". Instead of using it to protect yourself or selling it to people who want/need it you are just sitting on unused masks.
Not everyone was quick enough to buy masks for himself, however there is still opportunity and it's there because of people selling them for higher prices. That's how market works.

There is a shortage and most warehouses are cleared. Since hospitals are placing orders earliest estimates for disposable respirators being available say April. However, the situation is difficult because not only a lot of manufacturing is done in China but the supply chain also depends on it and China manufacturers are working very intensively to make more masks. All factories that are capable of manufacturing respirators are doing that and all factories that can make medical masks are doing that.
If your friend is looking to profit, he is at least 2-3 weeks late. If he is looking for masks for himself he should just buy them for a premium or get a reusable one.

I can check out Russian stores for prices since there's almost no ill (except far east, of course), but you know, need to consider the delivering price and some of them offer at lower if bought in bulk or by companies. BTW Also seen some people in RU-chats trying to buy masks for reselling.

OP is looking to buy thousands and make a commission (his PM to me). Nothing to do with protecting others, simply looking to cash in on death and panic. That is pure scum in my book, as are you.

money is just paper. it aint worth more than lifes fam. people in china struggling to stay alive, while the people in the west tryna profit of it. i aint stopping you, but you should def reconsider your choice.

Maybe he is not doing it for the "right" reasons but his actions are actually more beneficial than yours as you are just sitting on masks you are not planning to sell because of your "morals". (Unless you use them, in such case - good for you.)
He is essentially placing a bet on whether this becomes serious or not.
If it does become serious, he will sell masks to those who are willing to pay more (maybe because they need it more, who knows?) thus ensuring a more fair distribution. It ensures that masks are available at all times for the serious buyers, otherwise there would be no incentive for the manufacturers to increase production and likely, the cheaper masks would be bought by people who might not use them.
If it turns out to be serious he is rewarded with money and those who bought the more expensive masks are rewarded with ... well, the masks they were able to buy because of him. If this is not serious, the mask supply will be restored and he will have to sell his stock with a loss.
That's free market.
That's naive. If this is serious people in the West might also be struggling soon.
Why do you think the supplier warehouses are empty? The Chinese were the first to make orders because they saw the danger, they also cleared retail shops. Very few people in the West were able to buy masks for themselves and even fewer managed to make wholesale orders.

I'd rather be able to buy a more expensive mask than not to be able to buy one at all and the speculators are natural actors of a free market.

There are a number of larger suppliers right in the US, but they aren't priced like Chinese products.
