Why PBNs are not visible to backlink checker tools?

There is one site on my niche and this site gained almost 2 million traffic withing one month and the best part is it is new site.
When I looked up for ist backlinks, I found that it has not many backlinks and even domain rating is less, both DR and DA is very less. But it is ranking for many high search volume keywords and at first position.
and I am sure the website is using PBNs because there any not many backlinks visible when I use the Backlink checkers.
How PBNs get hid from these tools?

They can be hidden in various ways. The most common is blocking the bots via .httaccess from cPanel.

They block the PBNs from Ahrefs and different crawlers, so you can't see them and report to Google or do negative SEO on them.

@Geasy already gave you the answer. There are tools however that look especially for links that are hidden - pbnhunter.io -> the guy is BHW member and have BST thread here. Go check with the light version (free) and you may find the PBNs.

This is something almost no one talks about but it's an effective alternative to some bots that are rumored to re-crawl your site after you've blocked them using a different user agent.

Cloaking is a black art. Nobody ever talks about it, much less in public forums.

Then there are SEO people who hide backlinks from their competitors, great idea and as always it’s worth doing, who wants to give that kind of information away anyway. Now many SEO’s will use PBNs, which I’ll go into in more detail sometime in the future, if you were to look at the robots text of any of those sites you would see that they block all of the bots from the most popular backlink checking tools.

Most PBNs will block ahrefs, majestic and moz. You can always use other tools like Pulno's backlink tool to find others PBNs (note: I'm the co-author of Pulno).

They may blocked the crawlers. If it is a new site having high organic traffic, there is a possibility that may have done redirects.

Blocking Ahrefs and Majestic is a common tactic to try and obscure where your link juice is coming from. There are ways to discover as many of these sites as possible though - you just need to think outside the box and look for alternative search engines/link services (hint) that they might have forgotten to block.
