What's the optimal word count on long form content

I have always considered long-form to be anything over 1000 words but I read somewhere recently that 700 words could be considered long-form what do you guys think?

Does it need many words to be FULLY satisfied? May you need to answer many questions to give a full and comprehensive answer to what the user may be looking for?

IMO, focus on meaningful and interesting article which gives real value for user. If the article is long but not interesting, then reader would not continue to read. And many short article with valuable and interesting fact ranks better than long article. If you want it to be long cover the concepts regarding the topic and make it more interesting.
