I noticed Chrome and Firefox are stripping http(s)://www from address bar anyway, so I think it doesn't matter, the user will remember the important part of the domain. For SERPs I don't think it matters

Don't use www. The web is moving away from it. You should always look ahead of the curve to take decisions. But if you already have a website, don't ruin it by making such changes as it doesn't matter.

It doesn't matter either way, just be consistent, use only www or use only non www, otherwise google will treat them as two seperate domains. Ensure you are redirecting appropriatly. I have everything redirecting to https://www.

It has been mentioned tho that www. is being used for larger authority sites.
