Hey guys. I'm new to YouTube advertising. Basically I am running video ads to my YouTube channel. Some fb ads too with poor results. I am just trying to gain YouTube subscribers, I am not selling anything.. my end result is about $2.5 USD spent per new subscriber gained on YouTube channel. Is this good or bad?

Any ideas where to put my advertising dollars? I welcome all ideas! Thanks. Don't worry about my creative/demographics just keep it simple thanks.

Yes that is decent because it is a real believer.

I watch 1 minute in one of your videos and I still dont know what the fk you are talking about(maybe its cause engliish is not my first language) but still I think you need better content

If you know NLP, this is similar.

Problem is your content, those videos suck. Checked one and it was just two dudes chatting in an office, with terrible audio and probably filmed with a $20 video camera or cellphone.

Why would someone want to subscribe to this? At least put in some effort.

I do agree with you. My content sucks for international traffic and am learning video editing too so I am not so boring.

Sadly it was on a 4k gph7 and 5d mark iv but I think I messed up the rendering during editing. I did mention I was new so I appreciate all feedback.

So you have a short trailer video that you run as an ad for your channel that shows at the beginning of others' videos? I don't have experience with running ads but from a viewers point of view the ad must capture the viewers interest in the first seconds before they have the Skip option. Also, to better convert to subscribers make sure to have them targeted by country, interest, age. Regarding the quality of your videos, the image is fine to me, it's great that you use DSLRs. The audio can be improved by using lavalier mics or the Video mic from Rode is a popular option which should eliminate room echo. This can be further improved by using some absorbing material behind the camera. So in short referring to your main question, make sure your ad is straight to the point in the first seconds and target people that you know have an interest in your channel topic and there will be a bigger chance to have them subscribed.

which ad you are running?

inline or display

i started with both but only got 2% view rate on display network, so i turned it off. and 3.6% view rate stays steady on youtube video ads, not great but w/e. i excluded ads from search results and remove 45-65. also, idk why i get very little subs from desktops and tablets, so i -100% adj my bid to those. i like testing new things and taking it slow. im up to 100+ subs and growing. even if my audio/lighting sucks, i just need 1% people to like it and keep moving forward
@QuickBrainPower

invest that money into better videos, I literally could not bother to listen to you for more than 10 seconds.

i will. i also want to live stream and things will get steady after 1000 subs, so hopefully i can get there

That’s really bad, you need to try to get down to $0.25-$0.50 per sub. Advertise elsewhere to send traffic to YouTube, targeting is key.

Thanks sounds about right. I've gotten it down to $1.50 now I think. High quality audio and good editing will do the rest. I just want to live stream asap . But believe it or not, I have lots of hours watched, maybe 150 hours for 130 subs. I'm new so please just let me mess up and grow slowly, I see the bad things too
