How to monetize dating site and app

Hey guys!

Couple of months ago I've bought a gay dating website + mobile app. There were only ads as the previous owner wanted to keep it `free`.
This type of niche is not my pair of shoes, but numbers were adding up and there was huge potential to scale.
So what I got is:

1. Adult website and app, based on crappy script :/
2. Database of 40 000 users registered.
3. Website is in non-english language.
4. It is in Top 10 in google results for main phrases.

What I did so far to increase sales:

1. Image moderation, as I don't want to make it `adult dating`. More likely I want it to be focused on meeting new people than just to getting boned
2. Turned option that it is mandatory to provide profile picture. Users can hide their faces on profile picture but at least their silhouette must be visible.
   By doing this I wanted to increase the quality of users presented in search results.
3. Temporary added paid accounts, but there were some issues with that, so I turned it off again. Issues were:
   1. Lesser user engagement on site
   2. Crappy script made so many errors, that It was not worth it to keep and maintain.

So here we are. I have validated idea that users are going to pay for premium accounts, and as I am full time programmer I'm going to rewrite this website into quality coded service.
Now I'm in progress of writing down all features and monetization strategies that will come with new version. And here are my questions to you guys:

1. What do you think I should improve in this website?
2. What should be given with premium account to user? (unlimited messages - what should be limit for non paying users).
3. What kind of additional services they should be offered? apart from premium.
4. How I can monetize those non-paying users? (affiliate networks? - which and how? actually they are not clicking on ads).
5. In general: what you suggest to increase quality of service and income?

You mean like, each new user? Or new premium users have to be more visible in search results?
