What Do You Guys Use For Anti-Virus/Malware Software?

Hi Guys,

I just got a new cheap, light computer to carry around with me, but it's got a fresh installation of Windows with no antivirus or any protection besides Windows defender that's built-in.

What do you guys use?

I know there are a lot of free ones. Are they good enough? If not, which would you recommend?

Only using built in defender. But also stopped downloading a lot of pirated software a long time ago (which is the most reliable source of viruses imo).

So basically. As long as you are smart enough to not start some shady files, defender is good enough.

I don't download nor open anything that I don't know. Nor do I intend to do so in the near future.
If you really need to check your computer on malware I suggest using malwarebytes.
Don't install Avast, that is just bloatware at this point.

antivirous is a bussines bro. Do you think microsoft can't protect his own os. windows defender is enough.

Um, yes. I absolutely think 100% Microsoft cannot protect their own OS and there is a very long history of data to prove this.

I would personally not recommend business owners to run Windows at all.

I agree that it's a business, but I don't agree that Microsoft can protect it's own OS.

Viruses are a thing man, and millions of people have had experience with them. If microsoft could protect it's OS and the things you do on it, Viruses would have never been an issue which just isn't true.

It's definitely your own habits and stupidity that can lead to a virus, but it's better to be safe than sorry when you run your entire business from it.

I don’t believe in windows antimalware. If you work in an aggressive environment you need some additional protect. I use additional antivirus and make reserve copies of disc “C” once every few months (Acronis True Image software or any analogue).

I have used AVG for the past 10 years, you can start using it free or upgrade if you want, has worked so far, no issues.

For a long time I have used Avira free version and that's a good choice.

However I have always used malwarebytes, which can detect things Avira would not.

Still searching for a good deal for a legit license, if anyone have some tip please let us all know.
