TOP10 Crypto for a heterogeneous/hold wallet

Hi guys,

I know it sounds really a basic and too general question, but please could you do the following excercise to drive me some guidelines : Let say I got 100 units (€, $ whatever), and would like to constitute a wallet of multiple Alt coin (with BTC and ETH), hold purposes, you know the most reliable and future potential alt coins, your TOP 10 (with if you got 2 or 3 projects you believe and could boom'in in the next months/years...)

WELL guys you got the idea, if you could take a minute to reply few words and having your feedbacks. THANKS a lot !

Multi coin wallets now hold almost all altcoins, so you can just keep top 5. Most popular are Doge, ETH, Dash, LTC.

It's really had recommending cryptos today. It's risky and nobody wants to be responsible for it.

Do your own research and determine which coins you think are useful and which aren't. Invest in value, not in hype. That's only advice I can give.

I play with cryptos every now and then, I'm not a expert trader, but I've been buying and selling BAT, ADA, ENJ, BTC and a few others from the top 50 every now and then. DYOR

My advice is to stay away from BTC clones. I would hold BTC and XMR and nothing else.

so yep btw I already got a ledger key. However at this time, a ledgey key could support any crypto currency ? or for some specifc alt coin, I will obviously need to keep it in a specific exchange market ?

Also, do you have (individually) a specific exchange market web platform preferred ? like crypto.com, binance ? I know it depends of course of the alt coin desired, but I mean by default, if you like more or less one of the hundreds of markets available at this time.

You should use the exchange the is most trusted by community / more secured. For example, I am using Kraken because you can enable 2F auth for logins but you also have a master 2F auth for withdraws. You should also enable all the security options available, just to be sure.
The user above mention ledger, it is actually the Ledger Hardware Wallet is not just a key, I'm not sure you own it or not. Also, from the same category is another hardware wallet called Trezor.
Now, on every exchange, you have your own wallet for every coin you have or you might have. It is imperative to keep the coins on the exchange only if you actively trade them. If not, withdraw to an off-exchange wallet. If you don't have any hardware wallet yet (which is the ideal place to keep your coins) you can create a wallet with the help of the software created by the devs of your coin.

The safest method is to keep your coins in the hardware wallet, Ledger or Trezor. Exchanges has been hacked before and most likely we'll be hack again in the future.
Just be sure that you generated your seed yourself. All the major crypto projects are supported by those two hardware wallets.
You can use other software wallets just for convenience, it's easier to keep your coins in the wallet on the phone for making small payments compared with hardware wallets where you have to make several steps for a small payment. You can split your coins on different wallets; for example: a small amount on the telephone, for the easy access, and the majority of your coins on a hardware wallet.

I really like Poloniex till the Chinese bought them and US user weren't allowed. Binance is the biggest. But KuCoin and CoinEx support specific altcoins that I have an interest in so I use those two. Depends on preference.

Forget about boom, this is altcoin history. You can hold let say TOP3 altcoins in your wallet, their price with each year can be a higher due to BTC price.

Also, concerning the repartition between BTC and other coin, what are the default guidelines ? like keeping 20%, 30%, 50% of BTC and the rest for other COIN ? really dont know what to do for that.

Nobody knows what the future holds for us. If you're planning to hold it on long term, I would just buy it and forget about it (it's kind of hard, to be honest). About the ratio, I would buy at least half in BTC and the rest split between altcoins you think is worth investing it. OK thanks sir it was approx what I planned. One thing about storing crypto : when you mentions to store in a offline wallet, is it OK using Exodus ? I currently got the Exodus software wallet installed on macbook, is it OK ? One thing Im asking it, if for any reason Exodus company crash out or make it impossible to access on their software wallet, what happens ? how to get back our cryptos ? at the end of the day I plan to store it on my Ledger Key, but I was asking me if it was OK to use a software wallet.
