Reddit backlinks from user profile subreddits

I noticed that all users have their own sort of profile blog. I was able to Get a backlink today from this. This seems too good to be true. A simple backlink from Reddit that is easy to index. I know Google indexes them but do these links have any value?

My account has 60k karma and I have been using it for years. This may or may not have some influence on this.

Following this as I am curious. My two cents - Reddit accounts, if you have a lot of karma, 60k for example you have an aged account with lots of upvoted activity. This must be taken into account in Google's algorithm to suggest that you are deemed reasonable authority and non-spammy.

The challenge now is to work out how far this can be pushed before it begins to cause trouble. I will run a test with this. I will pick a random long tail keyword that i do not currently rank well for on a page that i have not been trying to gain backlinks to. If i post a reddit link to it and it jumps, ill know its worth something.

You have an account with 60K karma why not just go ahead and create your own niche-related subreddit. Make it look legit with a dozen or so posts and than create a longass post with your link and get (buy) some upvotes.

Will a niche related subreddit be more valuable than the personal blog backlinks? Don't subreddits need to have a certain amount of followers and get good engagement before they are indexable?
