It's not a new issue.
Sending dm with mobile browser is possible from 6 months ago.
We have been working on this, but a big issue is account creation. with a new acc you can't send more than 10-20 different messages to users. and it is hard to make new verified accs. ( its cost is more than its profits).
So sending direct still has problems.
if you have a solution, I will appreciate that.

Are you saying that recently created IG accounts can do 10-20 DMs max thought Embedded Browser otherwise they will get deleted? Is that right?

Yes exactly. At the first time an account is being action blocked for 2 days, and sometimes that's being removed. It doesn't much matter if account's email & phone number are verified or not.

I've noticed it myself and I was glad to see it, that's a great addition IMO. It was really missing before.
