None of those keyword tools works correctly. I have tried and tested with many of my sites.

Tools would give me 1000 searches per month. Then my site reaches place one and I get 10000. Those tools are inaccurate (extremely inaccurate)!

Just use common sense.

You just saved me from quitting my new niche, I have been researching about this niche for quite some time now, keywords tools I have tried so far keep giving me odd volumes, 500 - 1000 searches per month, while some keywords would be showing 200 words, and I was like holy shit, what the hell would I be doing with this niche so I'm probably gonna waste my time and money.

I researched about it on youtube and saw a video where a couple of guys mentioned the same thing that keyword research tools are a bunch of crap. And here again, you mentioned the same thing. Thanks man!

yes, and that is the thing that confuses me. I mean, the more tools you use for this kind of work, the more confused you get.

But thanks for your input, from now on will look differently on kw research.

And in this case I can see that free tool "ubersuggest" is better than paid tool "ahrefs".

The score is a percentage from 0 to 100 and the higher the percentage, the more difficult SEMrush predicts it would be to rank for. To calculate keyword difficulty, SEMrush takes into consideration the authority of the domains that are showing up on the results page and then estimates how hard it would be for a new website to outrank its current competitors on the SERP.

We calculate the Ahrefs KD score by taking a weighted average of the number of linking domains to the current top-10 ranking pages and then plotting the result on a logarithmic scale from 0 to 100.

The difficulty scores are from 1 to 100. The higher the number the harder it will be to compete for that keyword. And the lower the number the easier it is to compete.

My point is, each tool has its own way to calculate a keyword difficulty score.

So, saying which one is the most accurate it´s just subjective.

Best approach?

Just run a manual keyword difficulty analysis.

It doesn´t take much knowledge or experience to do this. ANYONE CAN DO IT!

Breakdown the top 10 ranking pages for any given keyword and check for the following...

• The relevance of the top-ranking pages in regards to the user´s search intent
• Number of authoritative sites
• Their On-Page SEO scores (There are free online tools for this)
• Is a domain occupying several slots? - If this is the case it generally means Google hasn´t properly fulfilled the user´s search intent.
• Content length
• Links and referring domains pointing to that page (NOT THE DOMAIN)
• Number of eCommerce/marketplace sites ranking (Online stores, Amazon, eBay, Alibaba, etc)
• Number of social platform´s pages
• Number of Web 2.0s (Blogspot, Wix, Weebly, etc)
• Number of article submission websites (eZine, iSnare, MyArticle, ArticleBiz, etc)
• Number of Q&A pages (Quora, Reddit, Yahoo Answers, etc)
• Number of Google features (Ads, featured snippet, videos, People Also Ask, etc) - These push organic results further down decreasing overall CTR

These factors will give you all the information you need in order to accurately determine how hard will it be to rank in the top 10 SERP results of Google.
