Mcgregor was just Dana's latest hype machine and loved because he knows knew how to make lots of money for the UFC in general but that was then.

And i'm sorry if you're a Mcrgegor fan, but $80m payday is just more of his hype - he netted $3 Mil directly to purse fighting a no-name.
Which isn't that much considering even Cerrone got $200k for being his heavy bag.

They gave him an easy opponent for his comeback, and now people are excited about Conor because of his performance.
Even though I like him as a fighter ( not as a human being ), I think he should have fought a worthy opponent like Justin Gaethje. And then straight to the title fight with Khabib ( or Tony ).
He chose the easy way.
Let's be honest, Cowboy is finished. Beating him doesn't mean much nowadays. He should retire.
Now Conor will probably choose another easy fight in Nate Diaz to end the trilogy (money fight), and then probably Jorge Masvidal.
I think he's going to beat them as well. Diaz is finished, and Masvidal is a mediocre fighter... he only got recognition after he ko Askren. Until then, no-one was talking of him. He's a character, entertaining, but Conor is a better fighter than him.

For his legacy and to prove he's the best, Conor should fight real OG like Gaethje, Tony, Colby or Usman.
He only picks the easy fights, which also make him more money.
He's a smart man.

IMO Gaethje is an easy fight. Gaethje was KO'd by both Poirier and Alvarez.
