BlackHat(World) legal issues?

So I have a few basic questions I wanted to ask. one of them as my title says, I'm just wondering if any black**hat site (reason why i put World in parenthesis) has gotten in any legal trouble for having other people's softwares/ebooks on them. I know this site has PLENTY of software people have ganked off the internet, but has this site ever gotten sued or almost sued?
I was thinking of having a few free (or maybe paid) downloads to other people's ebooks, could I get in legal issues over that? or will they just ask me to take it down?

Another black**hat question I have is this: Let's say you host multiple websites on one hosting account (as in different domains that point to different directories). If, for example, site A gets blacklisted on the big g or any other search engine, (top domain), will your other sites get blacklisted as well? If site B is a subdirectory of site A, wouldnt that technically get blacklisted? Or does the SE only ban per domain? If you need clarification ask me.

Someplace listed on this site is a thread that has a post that contains a link to an article that says that the owners are providing a public service and that they are to be liable for the actions of it's members.

Often times, if too many spam/blackhat/etc sites are on the same IP, the entire IP (otherwise known as neighborhood) may be blacklisted by Google. While Google cannot necessarily tell whether or not another site is owned by the same person, they can tell that it's being hosted on the same service. They are getting better at pin-pointing specific domains only, but they do blacklist entire IPs.

This is one reason why it is a good idea to get hosting, though more expensive, where you're able to have multiple IPs and change them.

"Most likely, but not always" is the most accurate and honest answer I can give you. "Neighborhoods" are mildly important in ranking though.

so im not 100% sure what that ment. If you know where that thread is that would be great. Im still not sure on my answer of whether this site has gotten into any trouble for hosting other peoples ebooks/softwares ect. anyone else know?

I read that if the main domain is not banned -- you can have a sub domain banned and not effect the main domain providing you do not link to the subdomain from the main domain-- sub directorys are part of the main domain
and any ban on one of those whould ban the whole domain ---

From a legal point of view, as far as I am aware, Black Hat World does not host any downloads. Neither does it host images except avatars.

Illegal downloads of copyrighted software, ebooks etc., are hosted on sites like RapidShare, MegaUpload, MediaFire et al.

It is not unlawful to post a link to these files on any website. If it were, heaven help Google.
