A concurrent trying to take my market

Hi,

I've been dominating a specific niche for a few years, and I did very well.

I noticed that someone has copied at 80% the mechanism of my website & main business and is ranking very well since a few weeks on my main keywords.

He's still getting 10 times less visitors than me at the moment, but it's still a lot, and he's still very dangerous.

Is there anything I can do to limit his ascension and keep myself ahead ?

I hate it when someone is doing exactly the same idea.

I know it's part of the system, but still, defending your market is part of the system too (I guess).

Despite the site quality etc, I used natural SEO, while he juiced his links with a lot of 301 redirects.

If there are any good recommendations you can give me, I might take them.

It's happened to me too as well but on Facebook. Not only one person that are doing exactly my own idea but A LOT !
I had to change my niche I swear few months later someone has shared here a free course and found that it was about my idea....

My point is be flexible. Nothing lasts try to focus on many projects cause everything can change overnight!

It's good to have different projects, but when you're leading one of them, it's good to keep doing your best to preserve your position.

Wherever you go, there will be competitors.

You could check if he has been copying your content, but most likely he won't be so stupid.

Or maybe try to figure out if there is anything that you could improve on, anything that you negleted, anything that he has been doing better?

That's all I can think of. I know this is extremely frustrating.

But sadly NOTHING lasts ... Upon my experience...

That is just sad. Negative SEO is crap, think out of the box and make it impossible to outwork you

I only know of a tool that google offers is used by webmasters to remove spam backlinks.
I meant that you spam his site with viagra links and the only way he can combat it is using this tool to remove the bad links you built for him.
I know it worked in the past, but I never tried it.
