Getting -ve followers on my account

Hello mates,
I purchased an old ig account with 2855 followers recently..am hoping to grow it because I did not want to start from scratch and bigger accounts are out of my budget. Since I started posting content it is growing negatively, as am typing now its sitting on 2750. Tried using the search button bt am not seeing any thread that is pointing me to a direction. Anyone with experience, I will be glad.

The problem is that the account was inactive for a long time and people forgot they were following it, or you changed the name/niche and now they are unfollowing.

I actually changed the niche, even the name.

would you personally keep following an account which changed to another niche out of nowhere? especially if you are not interested in that niche?

There is your problem , people dont want to keep following something they do not recognize they even started following in the first place.
The other problem you are going to run into is that most accounts that are not liking/unfollowing are most likely inactive and will only be useful for that number.
