Very very cool - Really considering on dropping one of my other projects to go with this - but honestly I'm unsure.
I'm developing on a few white hat projects and one blackhat project... but idk man.

There is an app called Lucky Day - Win Real Money with 10,000,000+ downloads.

It has 810,305 reviews, I think this is one of the keys to its virality along with the money niche.

I think a big strategy for these apps is mobile PPC and PPI.

These guys probably throw a lot of money in ads before it gains traction.

For someone on a budget, there are ways to make this app go viral. No? Eg. Fake article websites, IG Micro Influencers etc etc. Social media is a a powerhouse if done right. Things can go viral.

I am thinking one good coder to make the algo's and one graphics guys for the layout, both full time should be enough, and time to deliver maybe 2-3 months?

If so, thats around $10k cost, the app itself is not that complicated, please share your thoughts, Thanks

You will also have to add the cost of promotion, at least at the beginning until the app has traction and becomes viral and organically downloaded.

Cost of promotion is separate, I estimate that at $30k or so, $1k per day or spread as you like.

But I was curious about the cost to develop the app, thats where I have no idea. Thoughts?

This kind of apps get eventually banned from the store, but you can make money out of them.
Google play store got flood with apps like this. (cashapps) But still you can make money if you know how to not get banned and make your account live longer.
You gotta know how to avoid getting banned etc etc.
There are source codes on the internet for apps like cash app ( on codecanyon, for example), it's so common that you probably can find it for free somewhere. (I saw it being shared in some app reskinning groups).

They can’t say “hey it’s not legit” until they completely scam someone

I was experienced with same type of app in Bangladesh. That app was in playstore called "bolaka biddaloy" (Egret School)
It was totally legit and paid all of it's users via local payment system to mobile phone. It would wait few seconds and showed ads. The app was viral after release.
but after 2 months Google banned this app.
