I have the option to potentially acquire a page on FB with a 155k follower count, what is a realistic value to offer? Without low-balling or overpaying? New to Social media deals like this, just would like a few opinions.

And just to add, the page is related to categories I'm already involved with, so potentially a worthwhile move. Thanks.

if you have a +100k like in facebook you can earn lots of many per month
like biggest company such as google you can aern money from ads

wow 115k followers , how many followers are real or get involve?

I'd say given that the page was active you could utilize a good percentage of them, haven't seen stats yet. I was just manually going over some stuff that fits my overall categories and I happened upon it. I messaged the page owner and asked if he'd be willing to let the page go and he asked in turn what my offer was.

I got some ideas in my mind of what I'd pay, but I'd also like to hear some generic ideas of what others might pay for something with that amount of followers. Hard question to answer I suppose, but again just a general curiosity.

Currently the page has been inactive since 2018 sometime, but still maintaining it's follower base

It is hard to tell the real price. There are pages in niches where they have 500K+ followers and just getting 50-1.5K share + likes etc. On the other side smaller pages with 30K like getting 6K shares on some posts and avg 50-100 share+likes.

A lot of followers doesn't mean nothing.
Also need to consider why the page was not used for a long time. Probably the owner is not making any money out of it,so you can push the price more down.

As an example i sold couple of years back,FB page with website /ofc i was selling the website and gave the page as a gratis - against TOS to sell an FB page/ , page had 200K likes on it and went for 15K USD. Need to ask for test posts 2-3 of them and than decide than price. Which might turn out to be bad, cause the post will have a lot of engagement and you will end up paying more.

If you think the page might be worth it,i would offer around 1K for it without test post. Max i would offer is 2-3K not more than that. Need to offer a shit price for it,see the reactions and negotiate.

Thanks for all the info, definitely some insightful information for me here. Maybe I'll approach this from the test angle first, and see what I can garner from that if they're open to the idea. And also try to fish around for some expectations of the seller. Thanks again Sysco32.

Any serious buyer will usually look at revenue potential (unless you find a very specific prospect who is already monetizing a very similar page) and this is determined based on the revenue of the 12 previous months. If your page is making money you can probably get anywhere between a 20-30 multiplier on your monthly profits, depending on how and where you try to sell it. Be careful though because selling FB pages is against their TOS.

It is against the TOS - that is why when FB page is transferred, a website should be sold and the FB page attached to it is given as a gratis....

Thanks for the continued replies. I've never dipped my toes into the FB realm, I do understand TOS and what not, so definitely not going into it blind in that sense. But to make a long story short I'm involved in some specific content already, and by chance I figured I'd see what the story was on the page, and wrote out a little message to which he responded quite quickly asking what my offer was. So from that point on I was kinda inspired to see what peoples thoughts might be.

I've also kind of debated whether or not I could just use the page with my content and just re-brand it, and keep the guy in some position of inclusion. But we'll see as the story unfolds I guess.

For insight:
153,xxx k page likes, 153,xxx k page followers

Last post on the page was from 2018, and had 247 reactions, 8 comments, and 15 shares and the trend of similar numbers seems to occur going back in the timeline as well, sometimes reaching 360 reacts, 60 shares type scenario.

So not an overly amazing reflection of the overall follower base / community. But workable if the price was right. I like to think as well that I could rework engagement anyway, lol. Cheers ladies and gents.

I would stay away unless you really lowball the price. Main reasons are:

1. You said the last post was in 2018, so the engagement back then means very little now, I would wager if the owner makes a post today it will be much lower.

2. Facebook is known to be gradually lowering page reach in favor of sponsored post.

3. There are more pages posting in 2020 than it was in 2018, more pages per user too I bet, so unless the algorithm favors this page for a particular user based on his past interactions with the page, it wont get shown a lot (see 1st point, there was no interactions with anyone for 2 years)

4. The actual transaction, if it comes to it will be based on trust. High chance of getting scammed if paying in advance, low chance of finishing the deal if demanding the page to be transferred before payment.

Before you continue the negotiations, ask owner to make some posts on the page. Not only images, ask for links to be posted too. It is possible that the site is not worth anything anymore if it is dead or not getting engagements.
