It looks like hyper-communication. Seriously, an email inbox + chat, continuously updated? Who needs this?
I turn my cellphone on once a day to check and answer voicemail. I check fb and email once a day, I close my IM apps if too many people start chatting with me... I can't stand being in constant contact with people all day every day- I wouldn't get anything done.

(I'm a forum addict, that habit is more than enough of a distraction.)
