hi, both are actually ok to do.

from my point of view, when i stop my monthly subscription on a PBN, they will remove the anchor text (or make the anchor text a plain text) while others remove the whole content.

it is actually up to you as long as you don't edit the url (link) - because Google will see it as manipulation.
