What 48 hours on this forum has taught me

The biggest issue I'm dealing with is the fact that I'm 30 years old.
I need to take action, I need to start now. BUT, I maintain the fact that I want to remain professional and work with something viable and scalable into the future.

I came here with misconceptions about paid ads and reselling.. DMArbitrage.. all this "stuff".

A handful of awesome individuals really gave me hope when they told me about programming.
I currently have a couple of tabs open for udemy courses on learning Python.
Any top ones you can recommend??

I'd like to go develop into AI and Deep Learning in future.
So.. my plan is to study this new language!!! andddd... honestly, I'm super excited!! I feel like I've found my calling.. I remember when I was a kid wanting to make games out of my cartoons and the dream just died. But this forum has really inspired me to crack on and get it done.

I've read that it's important to focus on a project when learning a language like this, I wonder if anyone has any smart ideas here, maybe just try and build a little app that reminds me to drink water or something?
I have ideas for business but I'm unable to see how I can apply these right now.. I guess I should start a course on Udemy and find out for myself!

Though it is great advice to learn Python. I'm not sure if your desire meets the reality of the language you are taking on. If you want to do AI and machine learning, you will most likely be seeking employment somewhere for a lucrative career, if a job is your end goal then, by all means, go ahead. If you want to build something for the web yourself I believe your first point of contact to the coding/scripting world should be HTML and Javascript. Without which there is no way to get anything online.

If you want to go for game development. I would suggest you go for C# and download Unity game engine or something, which will massively reduce the pain of building games. If you want to build mobile apps learn Java or Kotlin.

Don't worry about time and the pressure to rush, if you spend your time wisely and studying correctly then the road to success is almost guaranteed

I just found this coding game when I searched for easy ways to learn python (no prior knowledge).
I don't know if this game is catered to kids or not...But I found it really easy to learn while having fun. Give it a check.

Hahaa! Honestly, it's more for self-motivation.
I have a big old notebook here for writing everything down.. I dunno. Just trying to take part I spose!
The biggest hurdle for me was to take action.. so.. now I can slow down with the posts already. I just didn't expect things to happen this quick.

Python is a good choice if you want to get into AI. But please don't have a wrong image in your head about this: you will need to become proficient with python before you can do AI stuff, which will take a lot of time. Learning by working on a project is a good idea though. Good luck!

Having been a full-time entrepreneur for almost 20 years I feel like I can add some value here.

1) You are wise, 99% of the people on this forum never ask the questions you are about the future and program/project viability.

2) Run from affiliate marketing, you are not building a real asset. Rather you are helping another company build its database larger and larger.

3) Learn a skill like Python, but also learn accounting/legal. Its the language of REAL business.

4) Build a real project that solves a real problem. Not a hustle.

5) Look for a business with a high barrier to entry, 99% of millennials won't even try to compete with you.

6) Finally, look at high transaction global businesses. Think; Email SMTP as a service, SMS backbone, VPN, CC Processing, or Stock Photography, etc. << You know, real stuff!
