Hi all, I'm starting a new offline business in the new year and I'm just planning my local SEO strategy. It's a cleaning business.

I'm after advice from knowledgeable local SEO's.

Do you think its better to have 1 website and build up its domain authority to rank for everything (all exterior cleaning services) or have several highly targeted websites aimed at 1 particular cleaning service?

1st option

I've noticed in Google my business that listings with keywords in them rank higher than non keyword listing. So Emd would be perfect in that scenario....

If you look at big companies like Servpro they have multiple sites targeted to specific cities ie. servpro[city].com in addition they have the Google my business listing under the same
name Servpro[city]. It is a franchise though.. but who says you cant have multiple branches or offices.

Start with the first option.
You can rank for multiple services with the same site if you silo your site structure. I have a website the promotes 3 different services from the bay area south to San Diego. I rank for most cities in California for all 3 services. Once you build authority for one service it's easy to rank the others. This was all within the past year, but I was on page one for many areas by 4 months. About 3 months ago I built out the other 2 service and they are now on page one.

I also had a second site that ranked fairly well but I have not done anything with it in over a year while I worked on the other site. It fell from page one to page 3 or 4 on most keywords. I'm sure with a little work I can get both websites on page one.

Focus on one, it will save you a lot of work.

Thanks for your input. Yes 1 site is a lot of work these days, not like the good ole days :(

Always First Option . As For different websites you have to devote more time in building authority for each website differently .

Go with the first option, the 2nd option only makes sense if you have enough budget to build both sites backlink profiles with a ton of local backlinks and citations and even then I don't think it gives any real advantage over the first option.

Definitely 1 site. From personal experience it’s better as you can focus your efforts better. With multiple sites you have to split the budget and workload between the two sites including that for seo, development, maintenance etc.

Also, chances are that the sites will end up competing with each other / seo ends up overlapping.

While the 2nd option is more difficult, it gains more with the right jobs.

If one site fails, the second site may be successful.

Once the sites get to the good place, new jobs can be added, and customers can come to both.

For example: Moto already had 1 site in the courier industry. We prepared a 36-page screen blog for the customer. These sites both received customers, as well as links to their own main site.

Then, when the yields of the sites decreased, instead of making expenses, he left only 4. He closed the others. But there are 2 sites in the word which are very difficult to rebaket.

I use a translation program for English.

Start with just 1 website and build out your location pages. Eventually you can look into redirecting those page to subdomains or something like that.

Try to optimise in the Google My Business for local Seo, this method will boost the clicks

The first option makes much more sense, you can optimize the GMB for your services and web pages for target locations. Also, you have to create a different business names and addresses for each website if you go with the latter option.

Yes, make one website and rank for multiple services with the same website if you silo your site structure. Once you build authority for one service in that website aster that it's easy to rank the others.

One site putting full effort on it is a hit, especially if you are begginer on the field, after you gain more exp. you will be able to experiment more without any noticeable failures. :D
