Hello,

My friend’s computer broke and I was wondering if it’s possible to find word documents back maybe with the email connected to word?

Thank you

Only if they were previously auto-saved to the cloud or to an offline storage (and it sounds like they weren't).

What is the condition of the hard drive in the broken computer?

Get the hard drive, and connect to other device might be your best bet

Get the hard drive out and connect to another computer with a usb docking station. The data might be fine even if the computer is broken.

Dang I forgot to mention it’s a Mac OS, I had an email linked to word though, any chance there?

Mac still uses SATA so if the drive is intact it will be picked up by other OS. Im certain you'll be able to mount and access data on a ubuntu install.

My friend brang it to someone and they said it was not possible as there were broken pieces, so I assume the drive is broken as well. Seems like there is no solution here.

if the drive is damaged and cannot be mounted with any usb controller you can always take the drive to a data recovery company.
they can remove the platter and put it in a same disk, or takethe head from another disk and put it in yours..

Apple usually solders their drives. You should bring it to apple to see if they can help.
