I have heard its pretty customizable and I love the looks!
Does anyone have any good example sites?
What are your opinions on user friendly etc...

Premium templates?
Thanks guys!

I've used joomla in the past and overall I think it's pretty good. It's easy to customize its appearance and has hundreds of mods which can be handy in creating any kind of site.

I'm not currently using it on any of my sites so I can't really give you an example, but here are some premium templates you could have a look at:

I've used it quite a lot of times in the past, there are some great templates for it. But, some of the really good ones can be quite tricky to set all the modules up properly, but overall it is pretty good.

I find the YooTheme templates to be right up there with the best available for it. Check them out here;

Joomla is kick ass. I am trying to set up a bunch of sites now using it, but my hosting service sucks. Micro managing pukes. So, after I change hosts I'll have a few sites that I can point you to with 100% custom templates made by me, and if I can make them, just about anyone can.

Yes Joomla is awesome unless you wanted to try and use Wordpress for a CMS Joomla is the best way to go.. http://drupal.org/ is also promising though I've yet to run a site off it.

I threw up this site like in 15 minutes with joomla.

i agree, wordpress can be the perfect cms if properly costumized! i mean, u can create varied types of sites with wp!... and its easy, fast and reliable!
i went off topic! anyway, i have some experience with joomla and i love it but it has somewhat a learning curve! once u dominate it its awsome!

You can get all the templates you need on warez-bb.org

I have used Joomla on some sites but I find Drupal to be far superior - especially with the new 6.2 version.

Joomla is however easier to set up (not that drupal is very difficult).

If you are looking into Joomla and lack template design skills than definitely check out the company RocketThemes. They make by far the best templates for joomla that I have found.

i like wordpress better.

As a content manager joomla is good, but i find wordpress 100% simpler

I have Joomla installed on one of my websites. I like it very much since it has tons of modules to load and customize your website as you like. To see the site in action you can find it in my sig, the one with free sms.

Also please take care when you install you website, I have been hacked like twice because of joomla, to get rid of this nightmare you need to edit your php.ini and DO NOT allow for external files to be included. IF you get this done you have a secure website, easy to customize and very attractive.

Have to agree with Olly, Yo*othemes are the biz - easy to setup and most are available for free on torrent (although I always buy them when doing a site for a client ;) )

i love the templates that are out there, but they are tricky to tweak.. I deleted maybe 2G of templates and useful content for joomla. But go to piratebay and search for joomla and joomla pdf/guide's, there's one good from some guy calling himself spider or something.. Can't remember. Check this link, it's a bit basic.. seomoz*org/ugc/the-complete-introduction-to-joomla-seo

Good luck.

Rockettheme has the best templates

we only use joomla for our sites - many of the templates you can get though are rarely SEO optimized, we find it better to create your own....
