How much longevity do you think there is on TikTok?

I've recently downloaded TikTok and started posting about 2-3 times per week (I'm getting a decent amount of views/video considering I have next to no following - around 100-300/video) and there's something I've noticed that's quite strange with going viral. I was wondering if you guys had seen or experienced similar things.

A lot of the time I've noticed that small pages are going massively viral, but are then not able to retain those followers' engagement afterwards. It seems they get their 15 seconds of fame (literally) and then their accounts just drop off like flies.

So... how much longevity do you feel there is in the platform and what do you think this could be linked to? Is the algorithm pushing new content more than longtime creators to get more users + make them happier? Just thought this would be an interesting conversation to have, because a lot of people don't look like they're able to grow consistently and keep it active.

Post your thoughts below.

Most likely it’s thier algorithm only, but one will have to test from different videos to get a clear answers
Yeah it's interesting to look at. I'll be testing a couple different niches now because they've added the ability to switch between multiple accounts like insta now

In my opinion they'll last about 2-3 years.
Then, Facebook Ink. Will feel the heat & raise organic reach & lower ad costs if government doesn't get involved (leveling out the field)

And worst comes to worst? that's 36 months you can drive THOUSANDS of people to money sites and other platforms like YouTube & instagram.

How long will it be around ? Really doesn't matter

"How long can you benefit?" Should be the question & people who haven't started today, should.

It's a free traffic avenue

Thanks for the share. I would agree with what you're saying for sure. If instagram and fb don't make their organic reach better, everyone is gonna move making their platform suddenly unprofitable.

I'm currently posting on 4 channels every single day, I just found it weird how the traffic works on TikTok. It's a really sudden burst of energy and then just completely nose dives.

Happened to one of my posts last night. Went from 0 - 390 views in 30 seconds and then just stopped completely.

Actually I was looking for a post like this.

Made an account two days ago on tiktok, posted 5 niched videos I found on the internet with a little twist of mine and today I woke up with 6000 followers plus 600k + views on one of those videos.

This sh*t is crazy.

Exactly!
And surprisingly.. I've noticed more organic reach lately ;)
Not sure if that's due to a new data company or due to instagram anti trust meetings. Happened around the same date & zucks got scolded

It's long, and needs attention to understand
(Listen while you work)

The engagement you get when you use the app for the first couple of days is 100% faked it's not even an algorithm thing even facebook was caught doing something similar and when it comes to cheating chinese companies are a in a whole another level since cheating is a culture there.

Where did you find this information? Seems plausible to make you use the app more often, would be interesting to see how you've found this out.

Bro it's madness. How are your accounts coming along now and what did you do to gather that many views/followers?

Tbh my first video got really viral as well, and what I have noticed is that nearly everyone has at least one video which went viral massively.

The app really wants to keep you there, so if you put out quality content it will make at least every fifth video of you go viral, at least that is what I have noticed.

I think the app will stay for a while but eventually will die off if Zuckerberg decides to change his "kill everyones reach until they pay policy"

They will be here for some time at least, and then? Who knows, they can do some dumb shiet which would turn people off, they can sell to Mark or he can copycat their features for Instagram or a completely new platform. Basically, there're 101 ways for TikTok to die off.

Man since the time I posted that comment until now I've gained 2000 more followers and a LOT of views on that one video. It's almost hitting 1million views...
