I feel like writing my own articles is a waste of time because of all these automated websites, what's ur 2 cents on this?

Most people using autoposing for pbn and for link building. sometime it might work with low competition.

Do you have any idea on how long a good quality post should be to rank good in google?

A long form article has a better chance of ranking higher on google. A long form article would be anywhere between 2000-3000 words.
