How many blogs should I have?

Hi, I've been wondering how many blogs I should have that point to my website?
Also how often should I post a blog on my blogs?

Should I promote these blog posts to social bookmarks site?

As a rule of thumb, the more frequently you blog, the more traffic you tend to get. IMO, Publishing 2-4 times per week provides the highest results in terms of both traffic and conversions.

You should have as many sites pointing as possible, but by taking it step by step to make sure each is quality instead of working with too many at once. Posting frequency doesn't change much as much as having a lot of good posts, so it would just depend on your schedule until you get enough content on them. If I am trying to rank content on my own website, I like to create a really solid post on my site that has highly optimized on page.

Then link web 2.0s, guest posts, solid tier 1's etc at them and juice them with tier 2's if necessary.

The reason I like to drive the traffic to my main website is because of the benefits it has for retargeting the traffic after they leave.

How many blogs? Depends on what your website is about and what your blogs is about. And as many of people have said here, 3-4 times posting per week should work perfectly fine to increase the traffic of your website.
