Is this stupid?

Hello! I'm starting off a niche blog in the category of my studies. I want to use this as a platform where I can publish articles I write on content other people may need in the topic. I'm planning to write everything myself, and eventually try to monetize this blog.

My question is, is it stupid to try to run a niche blog myself? Since I won't be able to publish many, many posts a day, maybe a few per week, or maybe just 2 per week sometimes? Is it stupid?

Extra question for people who want to help a fellow nerd out, how do I do keyword research and turn that into SEO friendly text in my articles?

First of all; it's not stupid. Try to make a solid schedule for posting, like 2 times a week minimum and dedicate a part of your free time for it extra. What you can also do is get information from other students within your studies what they want to see on a blog like this, making it more fitting for your audience. The third advice is to set a goal for yourself; what do you want to achieve with it and within which timeframe?

its not stupid at all
you make your content by yourself it means you know what you write and have knowledge about it
later if you have more fund then maybe you can consider hiring a freelancer

Thanks for the reply! I'm just really insecure about starting this up. And i just found out I have to spend a lot of money on a pro theme, and I don't have that, so I have to roll with a free theme...

It's not stupid. Everyone has to start somewhere, what you need to embrace is a long term plan. If you make 2 posts per week, think in two years you will have hundreds of articles.

The important thing is, after you make each article, have a good backlink plan in place to get backlinks to your articles and follow it every time.

don't worry you can start with free theme
there are a lot of good free themes out there but this is depend on how you can customize it
if you already start making profit then you can invest on a pro theme

I'm using wordpress because I saw so many positive reviews of it. So I though why not? I'm looking for a theme that will provide calmness to my readers, and an easy navigation system...

Profit is so far in the future, but I guess I can dream hahaha

- and about the SEO ... just read more about it as much as you can, and start with the long tails keyword if your niche has more competition.
(if you use Wordpress, I recommend you the Yoast plugin, which will help you a lot with the SEO)
- about the searching for the keywords, there are many tools you can use ... the best one of them (and the free tools) is Google trends

You could share some of it on reddit, relevant forums, social media and so forth.
There are many free ways to promote content.

I would probably ask why and make him explain so I could understand his meaning. I need a bit feedback just because this is all new for me
