Hello Guys, I haven't smoke like 40 days (used to smoke 6-7 cigarette a day) and finally today I decided to smoke and I had 4. I've searched about ocassionaly smoking and I found odd results in quora and reddit so decided to ask here, is anyone ever tried quiting it and smoke like 4-5 a month or two?

I really feel guilty at the same time wants to smoke atleast once a month while partying.. Any solutions?

Pls non smokers avoid your comments only smokers can understand how it feels...

You will end up being a smoker again. :D
This happens to me everytime i quit. Just one stick, and I am back...

Seriously, if you don't smoke, don't bother touching another stick in your life again.

P.s. perhaps try vaping, if u do it once a month.

it took me 2 years to completely quit. if u can stop for 40 days that is a good starts.
(even though i dont touch cigarette for a few years now, sometimes if i see someone smoking, there is also a desire to smoking again :D , maybe that is a smoker nature? i dont know, that is what i feel.
and yes, vaping help me avoid cigarette when i decide to stop smoking, now im not smoking or vaping.

Gogol, Rains- Thanks alot will try vaping instead

You would have to be an absolute beast to stick to smoking 4-5 a month. Just quit altogether, it does too much bad for you anyways to be contemplating this.

it is the same with other addictions.. ones tasted, always wanted. If you keep on doing it even for once a month, it is not going to help. IF you asked if I am a smoker, then my answer is no.. But when I met my wife she was a heavy smoker, and I made her quit. With strong will, you can too..

Don't start vaping, it's the worst idea for occasional smokers. The pure nic in a vape is less satisfying than a cig so you'll start vaping all the time, taking in 10-20mg of nic daily, then eventually you can even go back to cigs and find your tolerance sky high and then you're a full-blown smoker, it's what happened to me 3 years ago and I still struggle with the addiction.

Also, keep in mind that occasional daily smoking caries about 70% of the risk of a pack-a-day smoking when it comes to cardio health - the first puff narrows your arteries and then the following puffs don't narrow them much further.

So there's no solution - keep smoking or don't, but keep in mind that 1 cig a day isn't 2000% less harmful than a pack, but only 30% less harmful. 4-5 a month will be very hard to stick to, you will end up having a few each day.

It's getting sick to read the harms and 30% is not far for a person trying to limit the cigarette and I do not know how they even calculate this and all , I'm really worried and I don't know how I gonna cope up with what I've decided... To be honest I never worried about anything when I used to smoke normal, the day I stopped it I'm having unwanted fears and confusions... Let's hope for the best

40 days is great. To quit, you need to 'redirect your brain to new addiction". Find a new interesting habit to do whenever you have the craving. Stay away from smoking environment.

There is no middle way unfortunately, I love death too much I guess...

Dont smoke at all, no benefits what so ever, literally unrepairable damage to lungs even if you smoke little amounts, if you dont believe me you can check the info online. If you appreciate yourself at all you shouldnt smoke.

@golddeejay I've started walking 7km a day (3.5 morning and evening) but for the first few days I've eat in unusual way but I managed to get rid of it and back on track.. And to be honest out of curiosity I've smoked again today and wants to smoke only once or twice a month while partying.. I've not drink as well for 40dayz but I did today.. I hope soeminw will say it is fine to smoke twice a month but never seen such a positive comments elsewhere and which makes me feel so sick again and I think I need to start everything like what I did on my day 1 I don't know what to do now.

I'm smoking since ~15, around 1.5 packs / day. Quitting this easily for 40 days straight is a dream.

Just a question that I don't think is worth another thread. Has anyone tried nicotine patches? If so, did it help? (Vaping didn't help me at all, in fact I was smoking the same amount of cigarettes and vaping in between them)

Yes I did checked that's why I came out here hoping that I'll get the answer what I'm expecting but I'm not getting it unfortunately..

Remember started smoking in 2006 and had the fever for like 4-5 months idk but I just left it knowing that it has always been bad for health, when I ask my friends why they won't you get that typical immature answer that their brains dont work if they don't smoke lol

Well, smoking does release cheap dopamine; so they are kind of right. It's true for any other addiction as well (oh, even sex lol). Great that you could get rid of this nasty addiction.

I haven't used nicotine patches, just a self motivation... If you want to quit we can do it together.. We can update here in this thread like once a week or so. What do toy think? I can share what exactly I did 40 days which makes me successful. But I'm a failure now lol

Don't do that much reading related to it but if that's true then what else can I say!

The thing is it's temporary and later on we realize with the kind of hefty bill we have to pay :(

When you feel guilty about smoking, nicotine can start triggering anxiety and worry, which will ruin your occasional cigarette - it will just bring unnecessary negative thoughts, despite relieving you of your cravings. If that's what you're talking about, you can take a look at this thread: https://www.medhelp.org/posts/Smoki...briefly-after-smoking-cigarettes/show/1660007 There's no solution :)

the next cig will 100% lead to the next one and so will the cycle be continuously non stop. if you decided to quite just be aware that there should be no just one cig ever.
