I am struggling to find a good process that is cost effective, but still dosent take much of my time. Do you guys use scrapebox, pitchbox or what does your process look like if you do it in-house?

outsourcing to agencies/brokers is your best bet as they will take care of all the content plus outreaching efforts. At the same time you know what you are getting as prices are often based on DA, DR ..

On the other hand, if you can afford two full time resources and content, then you should do it in house...

Well, you can hire an outreach expert. I am into this business already for last few years and have helped many clients too. You can also look for some groups dedicated to guest posting. But most of the members are actually fraud their so never pay anyone before the job complete.

I usually hire a VA on Upwork to do the work for me, although it costs more money to do it, it saves my tons of time to pitch my guest posts

Not Only Outbound link that matters, But also Good DA, PA, CF, TF, Domain age & few other metrics needs to be Considered .

A lot of guestposts on my website come organically. I always mention I am open to guest posting and get a few each month which is enough as I also write my own content

Even if you do use Scrapebox, be prepared to go through a lot of trouble to get stats and publishing status of those blogs. Not all blogs publish posts and they might ask for money upfront or upon publishing. But yeah that is the cheapest way of doing it.

I do manual outreach to blogs that are similar to mine. It also doesn't hurt to be up-front about offering $$$ for guest posts.
