I used hotjar to take screenshots video of visitors. You can see the moving,click,drag..everything on their screen if they are real visitor
you can use similar websites to test.

I tested this method:
My ads network show 7 clicks but i only see 1 visitor (1 screenshot video) on hotjar
OPFvwd4

I think ,they are combine 6 fake visitors and 1 real visitor
I hope with my method, you can test fake or real traffic before run your ads compaigns

But do hotjar record every visitor, or just randomly?

I tested it by myself, it record every real visitors. but if they are fake visitor by using "client http request" method, hotjar does not record anything.

I also see some record without mouse pointer, it only scrool down, down and top... I know exactly that they use automated tools like web browsers (selenium, ubot browser....)..they are also fake visitors

This isn't entirely accurate though. Hotjar works by embedding their Javascript snippet to your site. If the user has JS disabled it won't work. Some ad blockers also prevent Hotjar from functioning as well. I use Hotjar on all of my e-commerce stores so I'm very familiar with it.

it is only a little of browser as you say. almost cases is exactly right !
so dont worry about it.
you also try other similar website like hotjar if you want

I also have this problem in my website. I though it was some spamming robots that are randomly browsing websites and leaving a promoting comments.
But anyway, Hotjar is useful.

Thank you for the method, this can be useful for me if it counts only real visitors.

1. Check IP type, lots of bots traffic are using the datacenter IPs, It's 100% bot traffic...you can use http://ipinfo.io/ to check the IP is residential IPs or not.
2. User's actions, you can use crazyegg!
That records the user's actions! Fake traffic just click randomly, from records can easily recognize it
