Cheers BHWers. I first ran across this place many years ago, but I was too scattered at the time to really sink my teeth into the nuggets of wisdom that are stored behind these virtual walls.
I'm an American living in the sub-tropical part of the U.S. (think hurricanes, lots and lots of hurricanes) where our "winter" season lasts from about 4:03 am until 4:07am on January 21 of every year.
I'm a writer.
I'm a domain name investor from the 90s. My biggest sale was in 2012 for the mid $xx,xxx for a brandable 8L.com domain name. I later discovered that an intermediary bought the domain for a Belgian beer company... and I probably could have gotten a lot more money for it... but I was very happy with what I got, enough to buy a new car and to put a down payment on a house.
At one point, I had over 5000 domain names. Now, I'm down to about 200.
I'm here with you lot (ok, I learned that from Simon Cowell on Britain's Got Talent) to learn how to build some of these out.
Thanks to each of you for sharing your sage selves. I plan to absorb as much as I can... and hopefully to pay it forward when I am able.
