I found a website that is ranking on some keywords and I don't understand how he did it with only a few back links from low quality websites.

All his pages are full of addresses and copy paste text between them.

Then it's full of AdSense ads.

Any ideas?

Either keyword are something like this "2565 gameoryyy" or he is hiding his links. No way to crack top ranking for keyword with good searches without links.

Sorry I didn't mention. He's making 1000usd a month from AdSense. Keywords are the name of the places. Like hotel names if the niche was hotels.

How can you hide the links? I checked semrush and search console, no interesting links.

I have a feeling he did something black hat. He got these ranking in 1 year. Last month 2500 clicks, us traffic

Majority of the links falling into the grey or black hat category, don't get picked up by third party tools like moz, ahrefs, semrush etc. The goal of the webmaster is just to get them indexed by Google, he doesn't care of the other services.

But even in his search console doesn't show up... Can still be visible to Google?

Also as a side question, how do you hide from semrush, ahrefs...?

this is what`s like to have authority and good inter-linking...

How can he have authority and good linking with almost no content or duplicate and no back links...? Seems crazy to me

You can block all of these backlink checkers. Anyone with a private PBN will be blocking all these user agents

Cheers, so they need to own those back links like a pbn. Got it thanks.

Regarding the search console not showing any other links... Means there are no other links at all, or can still be hidden by search console, but be considered by Google SEO?

Just because you don`t see the backlinks in ahredfs moz or whatever service do you use
It DOES NOT mean they DONT have backlinks

I have this issue almost weekly that some customer will order a xrumer service and they ask for a refund because they don`t see the xrumer links in ahrefs moz or whatever they use

It gets really annoying after a time to explain them that ahrefs/moz has nothing to do with google....

But I also mentioned Google search console... And that's related to Google.. any explanation for that?

Three ideas to be exact

1. Authority of the homepage passing on to inner pages
2. Very low competition keywords that don't require links
3. There are links just checkers don't show them

Once the link is present when you search it on Google, it's indexed. Funnily, it doesn't always show up in the Search Console.

You can block their spiders via robots.txt

A few of my competitors are on page 1 with same thing not much content and shows only 20 backlinks from thin content I reckon a pbn and has it well hidden

He could be using hidden pbns I remember a service here which detects them but can’t remember sellers name, secondly those keywords may have zero difficulty levels, sometimes they just rank up if you put fresh content. You’ll need to dig more try and see if he refreshed his content, did he use info graphics. Once you have more information post here then we can try and help figure what you need to outrank him

CPC $1.00
Competition 0.07

Search console one of the keywords
160 clicks, 4000 impressions

He could be using hidden links from pbns, or redirect type of links from seo packages, that won't show up on gsc, searches, or even on tools, when done correctly. I've purchased some seo packages in the past, that delivers some punch, but yet, I couldn't detect or review where some of those links originate, due to the techniques employed.

Interesting things. Thanks

I'm confused , How anyone can view any other persons website links from search console?

Does he have any reviews from sites like trust pilot? I have seen sites ranking really well with 0 links but hundreds of reviews so I think Google treats them like backlinks now.
