It's Google's Broad Core Algo Update for Sept 2019

One of my health sites is +100% today (compared to yesterday and same day last week).

So probably another EAT update.

guys - if you notice serp movement, please indicate how it is across mobile and desktop. thanks

where do you guy get all your info from is it analytics or console?

Good work. That's very consistent CTR you got.

You're aware they're going to penalize self star ratings now, right? Watch out for that. If they think you added the star ratings yourself they'll penalize you.

Thanks for reminding. I read that tweet and the update. From my understanding, it is applied for sites with their own business. For example if I run SEO services and put a 5-star review snippet for my 'Best SEO' company on the homepage then the stars will be removed from SERPs. I write reviews and rate other products.

But I think they have implemented this for a long time without saying. If I recall correctly a member of BHW had his site penalized as he used star review snippet to improve CTR for his info articles. He got a huge traffic spike for like 2 months until a manual review came.

So September update it's coming again. Hmm, hopefully it won't be a dejavu for me from the last year :)

P.S. Similar thing happened to about ten sites I own. Let's see if Google likes me more this time around ;)

Fingers are crossed it isn't anything two wild. Don't really want to go explain the reasoning why the websites I am managing dropped in ranking overnight to everyone... :(

Haven't noticed any increase or decrease in traffic so far. Hopefully its roll back from June update where I lost 50% traffic. Serps has been shite since last core update with mostly retaliers ranking.

I haven't seen shit so far in dozens of sites.

What's up?

I think all the reported changes in this thread were the usual fluctuations.

There was no big update that I can see.

Last year August update had killed me very hard. June update restored everything nicely and it grew up until recently where it started to dance a bit. However, i saw some very nice movements on big keywords, so i am waiting to see how it goes, but it seems to me, it is positive and growing back up

@bartosimpsonio - my desktop serp result has changed, but not mobile search. do you check both desktop and mobile on your side to see if there are any changes?

Same here, still no difference except the normal +-1 spot change here and there. Can't see anything at all, on any sites.

The "Google employee" Bil Lambert @ SERoundTable says the update will begin to become noticeable between 26/27.

He's been able to predict all major updates a few days in advance, without fail, so I'd say he's pretty reliable.

Some quotes:
"Your poll is too early, like I said, wait for the 26th/27th. In fact going by meetings today this will still be up in the air until next week."

"A I explained, prior to an update you will see traffic & metrics like you are used to. This is because while the core algo is updated the various "filters" designed to take your traffic away are not live. While the update rolls you will see flux. Post update you will see traffic levels around where they were prior to the update BUT these will slowly drop away. We are still in filter drop mode. Geo targeting will be out for the next few days too (as it was last week with the test)."

For f-sake, just DO IT already, the waiting is the worst. :D
